Lorna Chen

Lorna Chen is Regional Head of Funds and Asset Management for CEMA (Continental Europe, META and APAC) at Allen Overy Shearman Sterling (A&O Shearman), one of the world's largest international law firms with nearly 4,000 lawyers equally fluent in English law, U.S. law, and the laws of the world's most dynamic markets. With 29 years of cross-border experience spanning the United States, Europe, and Asia, Lorna is one of the most senior international fund formation lawyers in the region. Her practice centers on the structuring, formation, and operation of alternative investment products—including private equity funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds, real estate funds, funds of funds, and co-investment structures. She regularly advises family offices, wealth management platforms, and financial institutions on cross-border investments, bespoke co-investment arrangements, and multi-jurisdictional structuring considerations that are central to how family offices deploy capital today. Lorna currently serves in several public appointments by the Hong Kong government's Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, including as a panel member of the Securities and Futures Appeals Tribunal, a panel member of the Resolution Compensation Tribunal, and a member of the Process Review Panel for the Securities and Futures Commission.
