Alfred Wong

Alfred Wong joined Templewater in June 2023 and leads the firm’s decarbonization and energy transition investments. He also serves as a director of portfolio companies Wisdom Motor and Hysata.
Alfred brings more than 25 years of investment and executive operating experience, with a focus on commercializing technology innovation and supporting global expansion. Prior to joining Templewater, he served as Asia Pacific CEO and Managing Director of Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ: BLDP), where he led regional growth strategy, corporate and business development, and joint venture partnerships in China. His sector expertise spans hydrogen, electrification, transportation, and advanced manufacturing.
Alfred holds Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Engineering degrees from the University of British Columbia, an MBA from Simon Fraser University, and has completed an executive leadership program in corporate governance at Stanford University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (non-practicing) in Canada and is based in Hong Kong.
